"No fair! You changed the outcome by measuring it!"

I love Futurama and I thought of this quote from Dr. Farnsworth after I read the following:

“How are these two ways of thinking about bare attention—as disinterested disclosure of how the mind truly is versus as shaping it according to a valued standard—supposed to be related? They seem to be in tension. To disclose something requires not changing it as you disclose it. To shape the mind is to change it.
